Bacterial samples:
A mare carrying an infection may not become pregnant. At the same time there is a high risk of spreading an infection from one mare by the stallion to several other mares. Then it is not only your own mare that might not become pregnant, but several other mares too. Therefore, we want that every mare who wants to be covered with Illingur should show a negative bacterial samples on arrival at the stud holder. All so that you mare owners can get the best distribution as possible.
The breeding method is hand-mating. We will see to your mare´s well-being after the best of our ability, and make sure she is taken care of while here for covering. We would however like to get information on the mare ev. peculiarities ( eg. difficult to adjust to the flock ) You should have the mare and ev. foals insured, influenza- and tetanus vaccination. We take no responsibility for damage or loss of the mare/foal while being at our station. Nor damage that the mare/foal cause to other horses or people.
Mares with foals can get covered at the second mating period. (So approximately 3-4 weeks after the foal is born.)
Costs: - Bookingfee 2000 SEK
- Coverfee 13 000 SEK
- Grassfee 50 SEK/day ( 100 SEK/day for exemiamares or mares that need extra care )
- Ultrasound 800 SEK/each time
- Marefee to Swedish SIF
All costs are inclusive VAT.
Cost for the treatment of veterinary, ambulance, medical, etc. will be paid by the mareowner.
Is the mare not in foal at 90 days of control, 7 500 SEK will be repaid on production of veterinary certificates on the gall.
All fees must be paid before the mare goes home.
The stallionowner and the mareowner insure mutually on honour and conscience that the horses during the last six weeks non-resident where contagious horsedisease has occured, not transported in the carriage in which infected or sick horses has been transported, and that the horses during the last six weeks not has stayed where any symptoms that may indicate of contagious disease, and that the horses during that time nor had contact, directly or indirectly, with a horse who has likely had a contagious disease, and that the horses in general our knowledge, is healthy and in good condition for breeding. In addition, ensure that the horses have not had strangles or been in contact with infected horses strangles the last six months.
The mare shoul be dewormed, de-shoed and trimmed before arrival. If there is a foal that is older than 8v. it must also be dewormed. Should the mare / foal need veterinary care, we will contact the owner first. In acute cases, however, we will immediately contact a veterinarian. The mareowner stands for all the costs.
The mareowner undertakes to provide the foalrapport to the stallionowner as soon as the outcome is known, however the latest is the september 1 the foalbirthsyear.
